Here is another story from Perrault by Felix Lorioux. The more I see by this fantastic artist, the more impressed I am with his skill and imagination.

The last story in this book is Cinderella. I'd be happy to post that if you would like to see it too.

Jenavira13 and her friends requested more by Felix Lorioux, so here is the first of three tales from Perrault published in 1926. These delicate watercolors aren't as elaborately rendered as the ones in our previous postings of Fables De La Fontaine and Le Buffon des Enfants, but the drawing (particularly of nature) and the composition and framing of the images is beautiful. Enjoy!
The other two stories in this book are Cinderella and Puss in Boots. I'd be happy to post them if you would like to see them too.

Here are more beautiful illustrations by Felix Lorioux, who you might remember from our previous posts, Le Buffon des Enfants and Fables De La Fontaine Part One. Enjoy!

I just located a copy of Lorioux's Fairy Tales by Perrault from the mid-1920s. Let me know in the comments if you would like to see scans of that.

Here's another post about an artist you've never heard of before, but you'll never forget once you look at his work! My pal Tony "Superslice" Mora gave me this book as a birthday gift. It's a real treasure.

LE BUFFON DES ENFANTS

I don't have room on the blog to reproduce this entire book, but check out the way Lorioux incorporates his watercolors into the text of the book...
