History: Walt's War

This post is just the tip of the iceberg... see reason number 8 on our The Top Ten Reasons To Support The A-HAA for links to more great info on the history of animation told through the careers of great animators.

Here's a fascinating article from Life magazine on the Disney Studios during the wartime years...

The Disney production of those years has always been like sort of the company's black sheep for obvious reasons. They come from a time and context in history no one wants to experience ever again. But Disney was first and foremost a practical guy, and if keeping in business meant doing stuff for the Army and Navy, so he did. Right or wrong? That's up to each one's point of view. Great find.
