Illustration: Felix Lorioux's Puss In Boots
This post is just the tip of the iceberg... see reason number 3 on our The Top Ten Reasons To Support The A-HAA for links to more great posts about children's book illustrators.

Here is another story from Perrault by Felix Lorioux. The more I see by this fantastic artist, the more impressed I am with his skill and imagination.

The last story in this book is Cinderella. I'd be happy to post that if you would like to see it too.
If you found this to be useful, see also... Absolutely fantastic!
What a refined yet whimsical style; I wonder if he was influenced by Japanese woodcuts?
I'd love to see his treatment of Cinderella!
Wow! I never heard of this artist til you discovered him! Thanks much!
Well, just in time.
On Feb 10 of 1940, PUSS GET THE BOOT, the first Tom and Jerry cartoon, was aired.
I never heard of Lorioux before and these illustrations really amazed me, both in this and the previous few posts. The composition, use of color and sense for design is impeccable, plus he's got a truly unique and individual style that doesn't remind me of anybody else.
Thanks for this discovery. Please post the Cinderella story too.
This stuff is amazing! Thanks for posting it, and I'd really like to see the Cinderella stuff too.
This made me smile, I needed to, Thank you!
