Ratetouli was built basically on tired, recycled cartoon sentimental bullshit. It's a crime to take away writing, directing, and film from Persepolis. Especially considering what appreciation for that movie could mean for the industry on a whole. If your policy is to not ever throw anyone a bone, that's admirable, but really it's still bullshit and it's disapointing that a film that could move things forward and was indeed just a bolder movie got shafted to such a mediocre film with nothing to offer but cartoon history's vomit.

Once again, the studio with the best marketing wins. Don't get me wrong, Ratatouille is a great movie, but so is Persepolis. But of course, no one saw it. Just saying.

Oh my god, I'm so glad you three above my comment are here to enlighten everyone about how right your opinions are. Wow, for a second I almost thought I was thinking for myself when I voted for Ratatouille for most of the categories. I clearly was just voting for the best marketing or the tired, old bs, and not what I thought was a better movie. I must've been uneducated about Persepolis. I mean, I've only read the books and seen the movie. Maybe you could enlighten me on how to go back and live Satarapi's life, so i could have a better appreciation of the work.

Thank you Anon 9:20!! That Persepolis is a piece of whatever. I mean, it's like 1D less than 3, not even colored and not even in... ENGLISH!!?!!

Btw, I showed your reel to Lasseter... you're IN, bro! Schweet!

ps: "Read" any good comic books lately? Something with "real" art and a happy ending?

I haven't yet needed to ban anonymous comments, but I will do that if need be. Please don't post anything you wouldn't be willing to put your name on.

Thanks

IMHO, Julie Kavner should have won the award for Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production.
