Media: Tenggren's Grimm's Fairy Tales Pt. 1

This post is just the tip of the iceberg... see The Top Ten Reasons To Support The A-HAA for more jaw dropping images from classic illustrated books.

TenggrenTenggrenThis is a real treat... an extremely rare 1923 edition of Grimm's Fairy Tales illustrated by Gustaf Tenggren. If you've been following the ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archive Blog for a while, you'll remember our previous postings: The Little Trapper, Small Fry and the Winged Horse, and Heidi, Wonderbook and Juan and Juanita.

There is a quality about these works that remind me of Andrew Wyeth.

Looks like Rick Griffin saw this book shortly before he did his 1973 LP illustrations for the Grateful Dead- note especially the crows.
