Media: Mel Crawford's Golden Books

Clarke Snyder has been doing great work in his blog, Inspiration Grab Bag. He just put up a group of scans from Mel Crawford's classic Golden Book, "Pebbles Flintstone". Click on the image to see more...)

A couple of weeks ago, he featured another of Crawford's great books, "Magilla Gorilla"...

Make sure to read Clarke's commentary on why Mel Crawford was such a great artist. He has some terrific insights into what made Crawford the best of the illustrators at Western Publishing in the late 50s and early 60s.

Clark Snyder has generously offerred to donate t ASIFA high resolution scans of all of the artwork he is posting for his blogs. I hope all of you out there with Flickr pools, blogs and websites do the same. Email Me for submission specifications.

Speaking of blogs dealing with animation and other creative subjects... I just stumbled across this wonderful Creative Blog Directory. Hours of amazing browsing in there!
