Media: Virgil "Vip" Partch

This post is just the tip of the iceberg... see reason number 2 on our The Top Ten Reasons To Support The A-HAA for links to more great posts about print cartoonists.

Today, we digitized Partch's book, "Here We Go Again" for the ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archive. Here are some examples from this book...

See also Vip's "Man The Beast".

I hope you find these drawings to be useful to you. If you do, please help us spread the word about the Archive by linking to us on your own webpage or blog, and do what you can to support the project.

Vip's drawings always look great and as though they were dashed off minutes ago. I'd never seen these before. Thanks Steve!

In order to improve the quality of your scans, I suggest that you use a sheet of thin black card on the back of the page being scanned. This will knock out the black lines showing through to the front. Adjust the brightness and contrast later.
All the best, Michael Hirsh (Background artist).

I recall a series of VIP cartoons on the subject of "Hangovers I Have Known" -- but have had no luck finding them in print. They date from the 1950s, and all show a cutaway of a man's head with a little gladiator inside causing pain.(With a torch, a jack, hammer and chisel, plucking the eyeball muscles, etc.)Seriously, this series could be of great help to a headache specialist in diagnosis -- by asking his patient to choose the one most nearly matching his headache symptoms. Can anyone provide a lead as to where they might be found?
