Filmography: Our 400th Cartoon- Nutty Network

Today, I had a chance to catch up with some organizational work that has needed to be done for a couple of weeks. While I was doing that, all four computers hummed, processing and backing up cartoons. At the end of the day, we reached a landmark of sorts... our 400th cartoon. Now 400 cartoons may not seem like a lot, but keep in mind that each cartoon is archived in two backups of three sizes each. And these aren't just any old cartoons... We've focused on adding cartoons that are completely unavailable anywhere else. So far, we have archived all 120 B&W Popeye cartoons, over a dozen "banned" Warner Bros and MGM titles, and hundreds of Terrytoons that haven't been seen since the early 1960s.

Here are some frame grabs from our 400th cartoon, Nutty Network from the Paul Terry Studios. In this cartoon, a jungle band putting on a remote radio broadcast simulates a "War of the Worlds" style alien invasion. The King of the Jungle rallies the troops to repel the invaders from another world, and in the process gets bonked on the head and sees "little green men". This cartoon was one of Terrytoons' first Technicolor pictures. Thanks to Jerry Beck for providing us with this cartoon!
